Begin this wondrous new year by believing.
2022 has been an adventure, a complete roller coaster. We have all learnt multiple lessons and grown so much as individuals.
From beginning our normal daily lives after the pandemic and the quarantine period, time has passed by in a blink. Everyone has gone through ups and downs and transformed and changed in many positive ways.
This time of the year if not any other, is the most crucial time for self reflection. Give a long and deep thought on the past year and how you have spent your time and what kind of person you have been. This time of reflection is also a window of redemption. Think about the entire year and what changes you could have made, what better you could have done and how you could have been in a better, happier and more content state. Start this new year with ethics and policies that would lead to your own improvement. Surround yourself with people who make a positive impact on your mental health, happiness and have a progressive mind that can motivate you and inspire you to be a better version of yourself. Everyone has positives and negatives and it is up to you to pick out and be influenced by the positives and turn a blind eye towards the negatives of a person. Make up for any mistakes you may have made and most of all, follow your heart. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF and have faith in your decisions and even if you make a wrong decision, do something to make up for it. “Everything falls in place eventually” isn’t the way to go. Things are not magically going to fall in place and work out unless you yourself put an effort to do something about it. This mindset is just going to lead to procrastination and slacking.
One of the biggest things that will make you a happier, content and more confident person is being real to yourself. Do not live in denial about anything as it will not help you one bit. If you know you are lacking in a certain aspect of your life or are making a mistake somewhere which can be resolved or fixed or worked on, stop lying to yourself, be real and fix it. Time does not wait for anyone and the better you utilise it the more it will benefit you. Living in denial is the biggest thing that is holding you back and keeping you tied. Be truthful to yourself first, accept your mistakes or setbacks and work on it. Make that positive change without thinking about any other factors since you yourself know it is for your betterment and self improvement. Do not settle for average or mediocre at least until you know you have made the effort and given your all to this. For instance, if you feel you are getting bad grades and are capable of doing a lot more, don’t just sit around accepting and being satisfied with what you have and do something about it. Work on yourself and on keeping the environment around you positive and optimistic.
Learn and believe in the art of - letting go.
Your mind needs to have more control over yourself than your emotions and feelings.
Everyone knows that one can function and be way more content and happy when they are mentally at peace, but emotions like anger, frustration and the sense of an ego is what is holding you back. Such emotions and feelings are natural but are completely pointless and it gets you nowhere. It engulfs your brain with unnecessary thoughts and feelings which are holding you back and making you make so many mistakes in that unstable state of mind.
The ability to let go of things that are bothering you, making you angry and frustrated, and that are causing an unnecessary blockage in your mind, is extremely beneficial and its one of the things that could bring you so much peace and comfort.
Getting angry and getting your ego hurt due to the actions or words of someone is completely normal and its human behaviour, but controlling these emotions and feelings, understanding the perspective of the other person and forgiving them, is the art of letting go. This completely removes the uncomfortable feeling of hate and all the negativity from your mind and makes space for so much optimism and warmth.
It is human behaviour to make mistakes, but what a person does after those mistakes is what defines character.
Letting go is not running away from your problems or letting go of a person after an inconvenience or disappointment, but is simply letting go of the grudge or feeling of discomfort caused as to maintain and sustain inner peace and happiness. Disappointment and mistakes are a part of life but overcoming them in a positive manner is what builds strong character
Differentiate between the right and wrong and find the right people. It makes a huge difference in your life. Choose the people who inspire you and bring you peace and happiness. Such people are a big contributing factor in whatever goals or accomplishments you achieve in your life. Leave the feeling of self pride and ego aside and geniunely think about the long run and your own happiness. Be a better person for your own gain.
Find Peace. Maximise Efficiency.
Believe in yourself and make the right decisions.
Moving on to goals and aspirations. We all have something we have in mind that we want to achieve or a milestone we want to pass but only thinking is not enough. Keep your priorities set straight in your head and work accordingly. There is a time for everything in life, set yourself in accordance to this and focus on first accomplishing your targets and goals. Schedule your time and days in making progress and working towards self improvement as well as improving in the aspect of your tasks.
Set a certain number of tasks and goals that you wish to achieve in this year and keep them in your mind at all times at no.1 priority so you never lose focus and your vision stays intact.
We all had goals and aspirations for this year too, many of which we could not accomplish, so reflect on the mistakes you made and change these and make up for it so they are not repeated in the coming year.
Believe in yourself and your capability, have faith in your potential and talent and know that you can do whatever you have set your mind to.
Your mind is a slave to your actions and thoughts, if you think positive then you will be more positive, content and motivated but if you think negative and fill up your head with negativity and hateful emotions and feelings, then that is what will come back to you. It is the law of the universe.
The pen to your book of life is in your hands and it is up to you to do better for your own self and your own happiness and growth.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year:)
